Jervaulx Abbey in Lights

Fri 19th & sat 20th and fri 26th & sat 27th of October 5pm until 9pm

A celebration of life with lights, we will be lighting the walls with beautiful colours for a evening of celebration and enjoyment.  Provided by Countryside Events.

£7.50 Adults

£5 Children, under 2s free

No tickets needed, pay on entry.

Supporting Herriot Hospice as our local charity, with Heck providing hot food with their food van.  The Tearooms will remain open until the lights are turned off at 9pm.  Last entry at 8.30pm.  The Log Company will be procing log burners in the Abbey, musical performances 6.30pm each night.

Jervaulx in Lights

Friday 19th & Saturday 20th Friday 26th & Saturday 27th.  5pm until 9pm

Now in our second year of the increible Jervaulx in Lights.  Bring loved ones along to view the Abbey like never before, the atmosphere is alight with colours flooding the ruined walls.  We have refreshments available at the Tearooms, open from 10am until 9.30pm.  More information to come, confirming musical performances and food menus.  This is a evening not to be missed.



Group Guided Tour

We can offer group guided tours for a first-hand insight on history and the running of a privately-owned abbey, please ring the tearooms for further information and prices.

After which join us in the tearooms for our award-winning afternoon tea.


There are several walks that start from the carpark the most popular is the 6 ½ mile circular walk, passing the Abbey whilst following the footpath through the parkland, it is an easy scenic route either side of the River Ure.

A stroll through the Parkland is approx. one mile could be broken by a bench overlooking the pond.

The Magnificent Jervaulx Abbey event experience

Jervaulx Abbey can host events, from religious services, civil wedding ceremonies, blessings, touring theatre companies, to photo shoots, filming such as “All Creatures Great and Small”, “Heartbeat” and “Britain’s Hidden Heritage” and most recently “Country File”.  

Displays of vintage cars have also adorned the front of the Abbey, please call to book in.  Car rallies have chosen Jervaulx Abbey for a pit stop gathering in the Tearooms for refreshments. 

Group Guided Tours, unique experience to have the owner of this beautiful ruin show you around.
