Weddings at Jervaulx Abbey
Jervaulx Abbey is a stunning wedding venue, with wild flowers already decorating the ruins. The nature and natural beauty of these historic ruins lends itself perfectly for a romantic setting. Due to the current laws in England it is not possible to legally get married outside, but luckily we have a beautiful, fully-licensed room at the Jervaulx Abbey Tearoom. Seating around 60 guests, we offer flexible days to hold your legal ceremony. It is possible to have the legal ceremony on a separate day and then on your wedding day have a blessing within the Abbey grounds before your evening reception.
Our beautiful new Chapter House Room with high ceilings and oak-exposed beams is fully licensed to hold legal ceremonies. With neutral decoration we can seat approximately 60 people with our Lloyd Loom chairs.
Blessings in the Abbey
A unique setting to hold a civil ceremony or blessing. After your ceremony why not move onto your welcome drinks within the Abbey - all your guests can enjoy the idyllic surroundings and soak up the atmosphere, and whilst your guests soak up the romantic setting, you can capture your wedding day with some photographs around the Abbey, keeping off the walls at all times.
At Jervaulx Abbey we have 3 sites available to hire for your marquee/teepee/yurt, whatever you choose, whatever your wedding party size. Two paddocks and an area at the front of the Abbey provide a beautiful backdrop to your special day.
We have many packages available, and we'd encourage you to have a site visit to discuss how you would like your day to go.
To help you along with your event we have previous knowledge and experience on all aspects of outdoor events such as hiring of marquees, teepees, caterers, cake makers and decorators, florists, photographers etc. which we can pass on to you to make your special day an enjoyable and successful one.
